End of Month sub warfare report.
Another bonanza month for the Silent Service with over 200,000 tons of enemy shipping sunk or damaged and nearly 60 enemy ships put out of commission. Top scoring boat this month was the SS Tinosa, accounting for over 20,000 tons of enemy ships. While our boats have been dishing it out to the enemy, we have lost two submarines. The SS Tambor lost with all hands off Panggoe and the much missed and mourned Pride of the Fleet, the SS Pogy. Sunk with all her crew off Tsushima on the 19th March. Yet 2 boats for 200,000 tons plus is a good loss ratio.
